Gals, Glams and Glitz event

The Gals, Glams and Glitz event is a Zonta-sponsored fundraiser that raised $10,000 for scholarships. Downtown Traverse City shops supplied the clothes for the runway, and Imprés did the hair and make up for the models.

Redken is making it easier for clients to get the color they want by certifying their top colorists and calling them Redken Certified Haircolorists. Chris Tithof and Brooke DeShasier have just passed the certification exam (written, practical and scenario) to become a Redken Certified Haircolorist. "Color certification was designed to recognize and reward top colorists. Our accreditation process assesses their technical skills, knowledge of haircolor products and principles and their approach to color formulation, application and color correction. New pay structure transforms local salon spa.
If you've ever been frustrated by trying to make a reservation with your stylist, esthetician or nail technician, only to find out he or she is fully committed for weeks, you'll appreciate the focus on team at imprés Salon Spa.
imprés Salon Spa has converted to team-based pay and it's a switch that will benefit employees and their guests.
Kelly Perrin, Salon Director, Julie Courville of Courville Financial Services, Sandra Dunn, propietor at the Strategies Business Academy in Centerbrook, CT where they successfully completed the Strategies Incubator (Advanced Business Education) in November of this year.
The premise is simple. Every member of the imprés Salon Spa team is focused on serving the guest and building the business. Guests don’t "belong" to one employee; the entire staff may serve them. Skill certification ensures that the services are performed the same for every customer, and that each employee has a mapped-out growth plan. As the team hits certain milestones, bonuses are paid.
"This new program is great for our staff and great for our guests. We all want one thing: to ensure that every guest is satisfied, every time. By redesigning our pay structure and training program, our staff gets the tools and incentives to make sure that each guest receives the same high level of service, even if it's the first time that they're working with that guest," explains Sandra Dunn, President, imprés Salon Spa.
